(International Health Sciences University., 2014-11) Lusimbo, Racheal
This report explains the background of the organization, activities covered during my field work practice, challenges encountered, lessons and recommendations. Conclusions, appendices and reference. This is an account of the internship that I undertook at PADA Uganda. The internship was met to equip me with practical skills and knowledge to add on my academic competences. It involves detailed information about the nature of the organization, the department where I undertook training, the skills gained, challenges and my personal observations. The internship entailed working in strategic areas such as community Services, advocacy, and Social Rehabilitation through undertaking of various field activities relating to the development services within the communities and how these services benefited them and consequently their livelihood. The community based services is mostly responsible for the livelihood of the people and emphasis was mostly put on the vulnerable categories of the people in the areas of Kawempe division, like for example the disabled and the various organization offering services to these people and how these people were benefiting from the organization. The internship also involved sensitization and mobilization of clients of various development service groups. We worked alongside the community development officer's office and were tasked with sensitization of youth about the evils of drug abuse, its implication to their lives and its relationship to HIV Aids.
